Lessons from STEVE JOBS – By Commerceshala

Think different as Apple Inc says
If you do not want to be another brick in the wall, you have to have a colour that would make you look different. You might be thinking where others’ frequencies do not match. It is okay to think different as far as it makes sense to you. You might not get accepted right now but later you would be called a pioneer. Thinking different would invite criticism and harsh comments. You need to pay the cost to be different. But as we have witnessed, the cost is totally worth it. Steve was never accepted by his generation people as he was way ahead of times. He never got worried about this. You ought to believe in your ideas, thinking and efforts. Rest all will follow.

Never give up on your ideas
He did what he wanted to. He had an idea to change the world with technology which would be utility plus beautiful. His own conviction was so infectious that any idea from his brain would hit a button in your mind – “I AGREE”. He worked day in day out to make ideas feasible and make sense to people. He was pulled down with every idea but more he was pulled the more he repelled to make it happen. That is how winning is done.

Don’t accept the defeat
He survived criticism. He was thrown out from the company he created. He has three biggest brands of their respective industries. He survived cancer. He enjoyed every phase of life even if it is a challenge or crisis. He was written off after Apple Inc throwing him out. But as they say – you are defeated only when you accept the defeat.

It is okay of few people have issues with you
He was known for his demanding perfectionist management style which did not make him a favourite of many of his subordinates and peer. But he was a man who would achieve what he said. He knew people might not like me for the kind of leader he was, but he was there to make the idea and people work and not the relationship. It is okay if someone dislikes you as it is a matter of acceptance of other person’s style. There is nothing personal about it.
