Director
Identification Number (DIN) is a unique
identification number which is required to be obtained by every person who is
intended to become director of the company. It is given by Ministry of Corporate Affairs
(MCA). DIN is required to be mentioned on every form which is to be
submitted with Registrar of Companies (ROC) as MCA will not allow filling of
documents without DIN.
In order to
obtain DIN from MCA, the following procedure is to be adopted:-
- First step would be to check whether the computer system has the Requisite Hardware & software installed as well as the Internet Facility through which the DIN Application is to be made.
- Download the DIN Application form from the MCA (Ministry of Corporate Affairs) website.
- Fill the downloaded form and submit it electronically.
- On submission, a Provisional DIN will be displayed on the form. The form should be saved and printed.
- The Printed DIN form should be signed and submitted to MCA along with the following documents:
1. Passport size photograph of the
Applicant duly attested by Magistrate or a Practicing CA or CS or Notary Public
or Gazetted Officer.
2. Attested copy of one of the following as a proof of Identity
(i) Passport
(ii) Voter Card
(iii) Driving Licence
(iv) PAN Card
(v) Any other document which will
prove the identity of Applicant
3. Attested copy of one of the following as a proof of Residence
(i) Passport
(ii) Voter Card
(iii) Driving Licence
(iv) Telephone Bill
(v) Electricity Bill
(vi) Bank Account Statement
- On submission, the DIN Cell of MCA shall allot Final DIN. The Applicant will be notified through Post and also through E-Mail if provided in the form.
