Discontinuation of Professional Competence Examination
As notified in the ‘Implementation Schedule’ on the Institute website, students
who are pursuing Professional Competence Course (PCC) are hereby informed that the Professional Competence Examination (PCE) will be discontinued on culmination of November, 2012 examination. PCC students who wish to continue their studies in Chartered Accountancy Course, are required to switchover to Intermediate (Integrated Professional Competence) Course immediately and students who are appearing for November, 2012 Examination, may switchover to Intermediate (IPC) Course after declaration of PCE result, by fulfilling the following procedure:

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT
The results of the Chartered Accountants Professional Competence and Integrated Professional Competence Examinations held in May, 2012 are likely to be declared tentatively on Tuesday, the 7th August, 2012 around 5.00 P.M. and the same as well as the merit list (candidates securing a minimum of 55% and above marks and upto the maximum of 50th Rank and in accordance with the decision of the Examination Committee) on all India basis will be available on the following website:
http://www.caresults.nic.in
Arrangements have also been made for the students desirous of having results on their email addresses to pre-register their requests at the above website, i.e.,http://www.caresults.nic.in from 3rd August, 2012. All those registering their requests will be provided their results through e-mail on the e-mail addresses registered as above immediately after the declaration of the result.
Further facilities have been made for students of Professional Competence and Integrated Professional Competence Examinations held in May, 2012 desirous of knowing their results with marks on SMS. The service will be available through India Times. For getting results through message students should type:
(i) for Professional Competence Examination result the following
CAPCE(Space)XXXXXX (where XXXXXX is the six digit PCE examination roll number of the candidate) e.g. CAPCE 000197
(ii) for Integrated Professional Competence Examination result the following

No. 13-CA (EXAM)/N/2012: In pursuance of Regulation 22 of the Chartered Accountants Regulations, 1988, the Council of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India is pleased to notify that the Professional Competence Examination (PCE), Integrated Professional Competence Examination (IPCE) and Final examinations will be held on the dates given below at the following centres provided that sufficient number of candidates offer themselves to appear from each centre. Similarly Post Qualification Courses viz: Management Accountancy Course (MAC) Part – I, Corporate Management Course (CMC) Part – I, Tax Management Course (TMC) Part – I, Insurance and Risk Management (IRM) and International Trade Laws and World Trade Organisation (ITL & WTO)
examinations will also be held on the dates given below at the following centres (centres in India only) in terms of provisions as contained in Schedule “C”, “D”, “E”, “G” and “H” of the Chartered Accountants Regulations, 1988 respectively, provided that sufficient number of candidates offer themselves to appear from each centre.

IPCC May 2012 Exam RTP
Admit cards to candidates appearing in May 2012 Chartered Accountants Examinations - (13-03-2012)
Candidates who have applied for May 2012 Chartered Accountants exams are requested to note that admit cards with photographs and signatures of the candidates will be hosted on http://www.icai.nic.in generally 21 days prior to the commencement of the examination. Candidates may print their admit cards from the website, which will be valid for admission to the examination.
For downloading/printing of the admit cards from the website, candidates will be required to enter the following:
- Student registration number or the bar code on the examination form and
- Personal Identification Number (PIN) indicated by them in their application form.
Upon printing of admit cards, candidates are advised to verify the name, registration number, centre, medium, Group opted for accuracy.
In case of difficulty in printing of admit cards or any discrepancy in the data on the admit card so printed, candidates are advised to contact the Helpline of the Examination Department immediately, quoting their registration number, bar code number of their examination form and receipt number issued by the regional office(s), centre opted (with zone, if applicable), telephone number, fax number etc.

Errors if any, reported to the examination dept., in the data on the admit card, printed from the website, will be rectified and a letter by speed post/courier/email indicating the relevant change/correction etc will be sent to the respective candidates. However, such candidates may note that such corrections will not appear in the website.
It is seen that some candidates who submitted their exam forms on-line, did not send a print-out of their online exam forms, with their photographs and signatures duly affixed thereon. Admit cards of such candidates, hosted on the website, will not contain their photographs and signatures.
Such candidates are required to carry a photo identification i.e. voter’s card, driving licence, passport, identity card issued by College etc, failing which they will not be allowed entry into the examination centre. In case they do not have any of the abovementioned photo identity cards, they may get their photos attested by a Chartered Accountant or a Gazetted Officer and carry the same to the examination centre, as proof of their identity.
However, candidates may note that physical admit cards for May 2012 examination will also be sent to the candidates, by post. In case a candidate does not receive the physical admit card by post, for whatsoever reason, they can carry the admit card printed from website, which is also equally valid.

Integrated Professional Competence Course (IPCC) -Revision Test Papers (May 2012)
Eligibility to appear in May 2012 Integrated Professional Competence exam(IPCE)
The Council at its 312th meeting held from 25-27 December 2011 passed a Resolution under Regulation 205 to the effect that candidates who register for Integrated Professional Competence Course (IPCC) and complete eight months study course, as on the first day of the month in which examination is held would be eligible to appear in the IPCE to be held in May 2012 examination onwards. Accordingly, candidates who registered for IPCC on or before 1st September 2011 are eligible to appear in IPCE to be held in May 2012. Pursuant to the above-mentioned resolution, candidates are advised as follows:
The words “Registered for IPCC/ATC on or before 16th August 2011”
appearing in Column 6 (i) of the physical exam forms (OMR forms) of May 2012 IPCE, be read as “Registered for IPCC/ATC on or before 1st September 2011”.Paragraph 4(b) of the “Notes for Information and Guidance of applicants”·
be read as follows: “he produces a certificate to the effect that he has undergone a study course, for a period of not less than eight months, as may be specified by the Council, for the relevant level(s), as on the first day of the month in which examination is held, in the manner as may be specified by the Council from time to time”
The words “Candi·dates registered for IPCC/ATC as on or before 16th August 2011” appearing in Category 1: be read as “Registered for IPCC/ATC on or before 1st September 2011”. Students are advised to take note of the above announcement and apply accordingly.

In order to mitigate the hardship being faced by the students in registering for Integrated Professional Competence Course (IPCC), the Council at its 312th Meeting held from 25-27th December, 2011 decided to pass the following Resolution:-
“Resolved that by virtue of powers vested under Regulation 205 of the Chartered Accountants Regulations, 1988, the Council of the Institute hereby orders that candidates who register for Integrated Professional Competence Course (IPCC) in the respective Decentralized Office and complete eight months study course, as on the first day of the month in which examination is held would be eligible to appear in the Integrated Professional Competence Examination (IPCE) to be held in May, 2012 examination and onwards”.
Accordingly, candidates who register for Integrated Professional Competence Course (IPCC) in the respective Decentralized Office on or before 1st March/ 1st September of the year would be eligible to appear in the Integrated Professional Competence Examination (IPCE) to be held in the following November /May (in case, the last date of registration happens to be a holiday, the next working day will be the last date for registration to IPCC).
Students are therefore advised to ensure that the registration papers are submitted to the respective Decentralized Office of the Institute latest by 1st March/ 1st September, so as to be eligible to appear for Integrated Professional Competence Examination (IPCE) to be held in the following November/ May.
Students are also advised not to wait for receipt of CPT Marks Statement from the Examination Division for registration for IPCC but proceed for IPCC registration with a copy of the downloaded CPT marks statement.
