The CBDT has issued a notification regarding mode of filing of Income Tax return and New Income Tax return form for assessment year 2015-16 vide notification number 41/2015 dated 15/04/2015.
First time CBDT has introduced a new system of electronic verification code (EVC), where the assessee will not be required to send the ITR V to CPC.
How this system would work?
The process will require the e-filer to register his Aadhaar number in the ITR after which the UIDAI database will send an OTP to the registered mobile number of the taxpayer which subsequently will have to be authenticated on the e-filing website.
If the assessee is not having Aadhar, he has to follow the same process by sending the ITR V to CPC, as followed earlier.
