ELECTION RESULT PUNJAB,UP,UTTRANCHAL ,MANIPUR GOA FROM ELECTION COMMISION

The Samajwadi Party today seems on way to getting a clear majority in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly, where the ruling Bahujan Samaj Party led by Mayawati has been routed.

Creating history in Punjab, the Shiromani Akali Dal-Bharatiya Janata Party combine is all set to regain power in the state, dealing a body blow to the Congress's chances and cocking a snook at naysayers.

The combine is leading in 67 seats, as opposed to the Congress which is ahead in 47 constituencies in the 117-seat House.  Independents are leading in 3 seats.

Reports say that the leads are significant and could translate into actual results, give or take a couple of seats.
